Summer/Fall Training

Saturday training runs will continue informally through mid-January when our Winter/Spring session starts from Drake University. To keep up on the latest starting times and locations add yourself to our eMail training list by dropping us a note at Training@CapitalStriders.org.

Join us on Saturday mornings for our Summer/Fall Training Runs - this year sponsored by the IMT/Des Moines Marathon.

Whether you're building a base for any of the numerous fall marathons, preparing for a race of a shorter distance, or just want to meet fellow runners and share the great outdoors - this is the place to do it. Runs will range from 3 to 20 miles; for any pace of runner.

Location
All runs will start at Gray's Lake, on Fleur Drive, just south of downtown. We'll be starting from the parking lot on the far southeast corner of the lake. Take the main entrance off of Fleur Drive and follow the road past the main lot, past the beach to the far parking lot. Check out this satellite map for a better picture.

Runs will use Gray's Lake, Water Works Park, The Bill Riley Trail, and neighborhood streets north of Greenwood Park. Maps of that day's route will be provided each Saturday.

Starting Time
All runs will start at 7:00 a.m.
